Kingston Voluntary Action (KVA) is the infrastructure body for the voluntary and community sector in Kingston upon Thames.  It helps local groups with capacity building, representation and networking. 

Capacity Building:
KVA's capacity building service is available to all charities and community groups in the Borough. These include:
  • Accounts
  • Business Planning
  • Governance
  • Funding
  • Monitoring and Evaluations

Training and Events
KVA offers affordable training designed specifically for the voluntary sector - from First Aid to Crowdfunding.

Networks
KVA offers a wide range of free Networks in order to share relevant information, network with peers and stakehlders and influence policy.  These include:
  • The Children and Young People's Network
  • The Health and Social Care Network
  • The Trustees' Network
  • The Chief Officers' Network

KVA Projects
 It has a number of projects working to support Kingston's communities, including:

SUPERHIGHWAYS - offering advice, training and IT support to help small charities and community organisations to be more effective, raise their profile and demonstrate their impact using digital technology.  www.superhighways.org.uk  ​​

THE BUDDY SCHEME    - matches volunteers with service-users on a one-to-one basis, meeting that person regularly and trying different leisure activities.  Buddies are match to service-users of similar age and interests - football, boat trips, bowling, shopping, meals out, etc.  www.kva.org.uk/projects/buddy-scheme/buddy-scheme-volunteering
